Kansas City Chiefs tight end Fred Arbanas, a vital individual from their initial two Super Bowl groups during the 1960s and ’70s who later had a long vacation in area legislative issues, has passed on. He was 82.
The Jackson County Democratic Party in Missouri, for which Arbanas was a significant player for over forty years, reported his passing in a short assertion Saturday. No reason was given.
Arbanas, an individual from the Chiefs’ Hall of Fame, was a six-time all-AFL determination and was picked to the All-Time AFL Team by the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He was an individual from the Dallas Texans group that won the 1962 AFL title and, after the club moved to Kansas City, helped the rechristened Chiefs arrive at the Super Bowl in 1967 and 1970.
After his playing profession, Arbanas served over 40 years in the Jackson County Legislature. He was so persuasive in working with the neighborhood parks framework that a green was renamed in his honor in 1999.…
